A 50 year old family recipe is still alive and well at Lou's Cafe, courtesy of Maggie Desjardins. On any Friday night, ask Maggie to serve you up with her infamous clam chowder ! A delightful special that her father, Lou Desjardins had been serving since 1954. In the late 80's, Lou sold the business due to illness. New owners bought the establishment, but the name Lou's Cafe never changed.
Throughout the years, Maggie pondered on buying back her late fathers business. In early 2002, Maggie walked into Lou's Cafe and made a proposal to the current owners, one which they could not refuse, and Maggie was back in business May 22nd, 2002.
Lou's Cafe is known for live kick ass rock & roll bands with never a cover charge, (NEVER)........a dinner menu with all different types of good eats for everyone, a pool table for the pool sharks, and for those of you who like to gamble a little, press your luck with Keno. Maggie during the summer months offers motorcycle / poker runs from Lou's along with an annual pig roast. Motorcycle enthusiast have been coming to Lou's for years, and often make Lou's their favorite place for entertainment and socialization.
So if you're driving by Lou's, and the music is rockin, you better start knockin !
